Chief Spindle started his career in law enforcement in 1988 for the city of Ector.  He joined the Van Alstyne Police Department in 1990, promoted to Sergeant in 1992, and then to Chief in 1996.  In 1995, Chief Spindle was name "Officer of the Year".  In 2003 he served as the Public Safety Director for the city of Van Alstyne.  In 2002 and 2004 he was "Honored Professional" in the Who's Who.  Chief Spindle has served on the Texoma Regional Police Academy Advisory Board since 2004. Chief Spindle has been married to his wife, Paula, for the past 20 years and has 4 children.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping.
